DOCJT Firearms Training Supervisor Joe Wallace was presented today with the Kentucky Law Enforcement Firearms Championship Series state champion award. Kentucky Peace Officers’ Association President Chip Nowlin and KPOA Past President Doug Czor presented Wallace with the award at DOCJT in recognition of Wallace’s top score during last month’s state match, held at DOCJT’s Boonesboro Firing Range.

As a DOCJT instructor, Wallace is an associate KPOA member and performed in that category. The Kentucky Law Enforcement Firearms Championship includes a three-gun competition, with a rifle, shotgun and ammunition provided by KPOA, and competitors using a sidearm of their choice. KPOA has sponsored the event for about the past 13 years. A portion of the event’s proceeds go to KPOA Charities Inc., which provides college scholarships to deserving youth.
