Allen Love currently serves as the Law Enforcement Coordination Specialist for the United States Department of Justice – US Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Kentucky, a position he has held since May 2007. Love previously served as the Program Manager for the Kentucky Agency for Substance Abuse Policy in the Office of Drug Control Policy, Cabinet for Justice and Public Safety. Love retired from active law enforcement in 2005 after serving 12 years as the Chief of Police of the City of Versailles and 9 ½ years with the Richmond Police Department, obtaining the rank of Assistant Chief. During his tenure in Versailles, Love was named the 1999 Police Chief of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police and received the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Law Enforcement in 2002. Love holds a B.S. in Police Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and is a graduate of the 203rd session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He was appointed to the KLEC in 2010. He serves on the Curriculum Committee.
