BERL PERDUE
PerdueKentucky State Fraternal Order of Police President Berl Perdue , Jr. is the Sheriff of Clark County. He served 25 years, prior to being elected Sheriff, with the Winchester Police Department where he retired at the rank of Detective Sergeant. He is now serving his second term as Sheriff. In 2008 he was named Sheriff of the year by the Kentucky Sheriff 's Association. Berl is a 1981 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Police Administration with a minor study in Corrections. He graduated from the KLEC Basic Police Academy Class #141 as President of his class in 1982. Berl is currently serving as President of the Kentucky State Fraternal Order of Police having assumed that position in June 2012. Prior to being named President of the FOP , Berl served as Vice President from 1999-2012. He also served as president of his local FOP lodge, Winchester/Clark County FOP Lodge #34 from 1991-2011. Berl proudly represents over 9,800 sworn law enforcement professionals across the state of Kentucky. The Kentucky State FOP is the largest law enforcement organizationin the state. He serves on the Professional Standards Committee for the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
