Dr. Victor E. Kappeler is Dean and Foundation Professor in the College of Justice and Safety at Eastern Kentucky University. Kappeler received the Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, his Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Bachelor of Science in Police Administration were obtained from Eastern Kentucky University.
Dr. Kappeler is a former police officer and has taught at the National Police Institute, the FBI academy and several state Command Colleges. He has served as the Editor of many scholar journals and has published numerous books and scholarly papers in the field police studies. He has served as an expert and consultant to the White House, Department of Justice, many local and state police organizations as well as the armed services and numerous law firms. In 2012 he received Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Criminology’s Division of Critical Criminology for “sustained and distinguished scholarship.”
He became a Council Member in 2015 and currently serves on the Curriculum Committee.
