Steve Conrad
ConradSteve Conrad is the Police Chief of the Louisville Metro Police Department. He began his career in 1980, as a patrol officer with the Louisville Division of Police and worked his way through the ranks before being named Assistant Police Chief in 2003. Career highlights include managing the merger of the Louisville Division of Police and the Jefferson County Police Department; heading the department's first Office of Community Policing; and managing major events connected with the Kentucky Derby Festival. Conrad left the LMPD to become the Police Chief in Glendale, AZ in December 2005. Significant accomplishments with that department include successfully planning for and managing a number of high profile sporting events including the annual Fiesta Bowl, the first- ever Bowl Championship Series National Championship game and Super Bowl XLII. Chief Conrad received a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Administration and a Master of Science degree in Community Development, both from the University of Louisville. He attended and successfully completed the Southern Police Institute's Administrative Officers Course and the FBI's National Academy. Chief Conrad serves on the Professional Standards Committee.
